The Weekly Edit #6: I’ve Been Coming to Nuremberg for Years, Here Are My Favorite Spots
A curated map of my favorite restaurants and wine bars + meals I am making post-vacation, and a book I couldn’t get into

The past 7 days were spent in Nuremberg, Germany visiting my in-laws, solo-adventuring around the city while my husband worked, eating, and putting my German lessons to the test (which I can confirm was a success!). It was a fun week, with the added bonus of getting to escape the rain in Switzerland just a bit.
This week’s Weekly Edit is full of highlights, including:
A map of my top Nuremberg restaurant recommendations
A collection of photos from my week
The last book I read, and what I am reading this week!
Sharing my grocery list for this week & 3 meals I plan to make
My husband is from Nuremberg, Germany and since my first visit back in 2019, I’ve been more than a dozen times. At first glance, it might look like your typical German city — schnitzel, pretzels on every corner, and the famous Drei im Weckla (Nuremberg sausages tucked into a crusty bun). But if you scratch the surface, there’s so much more: an unexpected food scene with elevated restaurants, cozy wine bars, and spots that actually serve vegetables (lol).

SUNDAYS | A great brunch spot featuring sourdough, freshly baked pastries, and the best cappuccino in the area. (Plus they have oat, coconut, and lactose-free milk!)
Mano | A tapas spot that gives you farm to table vibes. The dishes are all unique, fabulously priced, and really great portion sizes. They have a variety of natural wines, and alcohol-free options as well.
Restaurant Heilig-Geist-Haus |Don’t let the 4.2 star rating deter you from eating here. It’s a historic old tavern in the heart of the city serving regional food, beer, in a really cool setting. It’s my favorite spot in the city for Wiener schnitzel
075 Weinbar & Handel | A hands down fabulous spot for natural wine lovers.
Vintage Bar | Across the street from 075 Weinbar is this spot — a dimly lit cocktail bar that is perfect for cozying up in wintertime.
Einzimmer Küche Bar | A cozy spot for locally sourced, regional dishes. This is a fancier spot, but definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a truly special meal.
Ganesha Restaurant Nürnberg | There is nothing more I love than Indian food for lunch. They don’t have a lunch buffet (I haven’t been able to find one in the city), but they do have a lunch menu where you can get tikka masala, channa masala, or whatever else suits your fancy for under €18.
Monki Ramen | I always think it’s so (funny? interesting? random?) that there are at least a dozen ramen spots in the city. It’s a small city, so the amount always surprises me. I’ve eaten at a handful of spots and Monki serves the best tantanmen ramen in the area.
Cinnamood | This is honestly on the list because living in Switzerland I miss a truly good cinnamon roll that doesn’t cost 12 dollars. Cinnamood is a chain in Europe (think Cinnabon, but with a bunch of different flavors). We always grab a vegan cinnamon + whatever seasonal flavor they have at the time and they are sweet, gooey, and fabulous.
Restaurant Bar Cafe Luftsprung | A casual spot next to the river that has the BEST salads. If you are traveling around Germany, you know that veggies are far and few between on restaurant plates. So, if you are craving something green, this is your spot.
Okay, I realized I have a LOT of favorites, so I’ve added more to the map — make sure to check it out here!
what I’ve read & am reading now
I am onto book #8 of the summer and felt for a moment last week that I had hit a reading rut. I was 60% into reading ‘Hello Sunshine’ by Laura Dave and wondering when the heck it was going to get good. Finally, at I think 72% read on my Kindle, it finally clicked and the story seemed to move forward. While I didn’t love the entire book, I really enjoyed the discussions of sharing our lives online, and how for most, means only sharing the “perfect” and curated aspects. (And how most people lie online lol).
Now I am reading, Hotel Nantucket and absolutely love it so far. Let me know what you are reading right now!
photos from my week
I didn’t share much on Instagram stories this past week and in a way that made me sad. I miss stories, as for a while they were a huge part of my business and life. But lately, I have this resistance to them. I notice others sharing less // I don’t want to share as much there // and frankly I just feel weird about it all. I dove into notes a little bit this week and realize that there is a seriously cool community here and people seem to enjoy pics here and there, so I am thinking I will share more here instead!

my grocery list & 3 meals I plan to make
Our fridge is almost completely empty after being gone the past week and I am about to head to the store so here’s what is on my list!
→ what I’ll be making this week: lemon artichoke capellini // breakfast burritos // crunchy salad with sesame dressing (will serve with crispy chicken!)
That’s all for today, I am heading to the store now but will be back on Friday in your inbox with some tips for upping your wellness routine post vacation!
